David Davenport served an apprenticeship as a cabinet maker and studied at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University, obtaining his City & Guilds in cabinet and chair making along with the National Diploma of Designs (Hons).

Although normally a one man workshop, assistance may be obtained from other cabinet makers in the district.

Through the years, although active in other pursuits, he has maintained his workshop and is now fully engaged in making furniture commissions on behalf of his clients.
