Much of our timber is harvested locally, eg. Claret Ash
, Almond, Elm, White Cedar, Silky Oak (Southern), Camphor
Laurel, Casuarina. Other timbers are available on request.
The logs are brought to the yard where a portable mill
converts them into usable boards which are then air dried
prior use.
WORKSHOP
ENTRY
Here the timber is cut to suitable sizes based on the
project on hand. Wide slabs are also levelled for table
tops
Testing for moisture is also conducted here.
MACHINE
SHOP
We believe that using machinery to do the preliminary
work is a more efficient and cost saving method of timber
preparation
We also have the capability to lay selected veneers, thereby
saving precious timber resources.
CABINET
SHOP ENTRY
The precut timber parts are trimmed to exact size and
joints are rough cut and prepared for assembly.
CABINET
SHOP
Cabinets and chairs are assembled in dry form prior to
final glueing together and cleaning up.
Final quality is important and each piece is scrutinised
before the next stage.
POLISHING
A variety of polished finishes are available for exterior
use, oils or various proprietory products.
Interior finishes are used for indoor furniture and are
usually completed with a final coat of wax.
